"Pancakes" 5x7 inches oil on panel

This is a painting of a stack of flapjacks with gooey butter and syrup.  I had to experiment with the syrup color. It is really a golden brown so I had to do a lot of mixing of cadmium orange and burnt seinna - with a little cadmium red thrown in as well.
Good enough to eat?

"Fashion or Fad" 6x6 inch mixed media on panel

This collage is an assembly of original photography, old hand written letters and magazine imagery. The black, white and sepia piece was created on 140 pound watercolor paper and then adhered to a 3/8 inch white painted panel. The panel has a notch in the rear for immediate hanging.  Easy!

"Fire Horse" 6x6 inches mixed media on panel

I love collage. I love repurposing all kinds of materials.

This collage utilizes distressed direct mail pieces (i.e. junk mail), magazine images, gesso, bubble paper as a stamp, old letters and acrylic paint. It is then adhered to a painted 6x6 inch panel and then varnished with acrylic sealer.

"At the Vineyard" 5 x 5 inches on 7/8 inch cradled board

This is a small painting I did at a Michigan vineyard. I used the end of the paint brush to scratch in lines in the wet paint on the panel. It makes the painting have a textured effect.

This painting is ready to hang, or sit on a shelf.

"On The Line" 5x7 inch oil

When I was up in Door County Wisconsin this past summer, I loved taking pictures of laundry blowing in the breeze. This was behind a little inn right on the beach. The sun was coming through the fabrics in such a pretty way, and the mop was hanging there keeping watch!
